5 Things to Remember When Using Airport Limo Service

July 30, 2015

It is the best way to get to the airport: in a limo. It’s luxurious. It’s comfortable. It’s reliable. It will make sure you arrive on time because, unlike a beat-up taxi, it is a well-maintained vehicle. And, for those who want peace and quiet during the ride, a limo service can save you from getting into a “forced” conversation with the driver or the chauffeur.

So it only makes sense for you to get a limo service to a NJ airport. To help you make the most of this luxurious, comfortable, and reliable ride, here are five things to remember when getting an airport limo service NJ has licensed.

1. Pick the right limousine.

They are not all stretch limos, you know. Limousines can come in different models (e.g., town car, standard SUV, Hummer SUV, limo bus, and others). Each limousine isn’t just about the style; it’s also about capacity.

So you’ll want to pick a limo that can accommodate the number of people who will be with you at the pick-up or for the drop-off. It would not make much sense to get a limo to the airport if you are all going to be packed in like sardines. Also, state laws require limo services to follow capacity to enforce safety on the road.

2.Prices will vary — but most limo services may be cheaper than taxis and shuttles.

Most limo services will be more affordable than your usual airport ride, like taxis and shuttles. With the exception of a limo service that only offers a flat rate to the airport, you can get a luxurious and sumptuous limo for under $60 (usually for town cars), at an hourly rate. So be sure to ask around and get as many quotes.

3.Your quote might not include toll charges, surcharges, and tax.

When you ask a limo service about their rates, make sure you are clear about the inclusions. Does the rate already come with surcharges and tax? Are you supposed to pay for toll charges, if it applies? And does the service charge airport tax? Be aware of what you will be paying for so that you don’t get surprised once you get billed.

4. Tip—only when the chauffeur has been awesome.

Did the chauffeur help you out with your bags? Was he polite and courteous? Did he go the extra mile, without expecting any tip? Most limo services may include gratuity charges (usually 15 percent) on your bill. But if your chauffeur was really helpful, you may want to slip him a tip. Ten percent of your bill would do.

5.Get the limo service’s contact details, and keep your phone on when you land.

Finally, the unexpected will happen. So even with the best weather and the best limo service, delays could happen. To make sure your chauffeur doesn’t miss you at the terminal or to get an update on where the limo is, have the service’s contact details handy and keep your phone on.
